My most notable achievement today, I believe, was setting up a meeting with Mr. Ely, Mr. Miller, and Ms. Casto. The meeting will allow me to connect Mr. Miller and Mr. Ely which will make me feel much more like a collaborator in this project and less like a messenger between two smarter parties. With that meeting, I also hope to learn from Mr. Ely how to input energy bills directly into the Energy Star Portfolio. I finished the preliminary setup of the Portfolio today. Additionally, the meeting will give me a chance to make connections and understand how I can best prioritize the most important and plausible parts of my proposal.

I received an email today from a former teacher of mine introducing me to a worldwide walkout occurring later in September advocating for action to fight climate change. In the midst of court cases, refugees, and massive storms all tied to climate change, I think it is imperative that the students at Maumee Valley have an opportunity to participate. I plan to start organizing some sort of participation in this worldwide event tomorrow.

I solidified some details for the conference I plan to attend this November as part of my intensive. Below is the link to the Conference website. I am very much looking forward to it and was able to find a handful of hostels to stay at during the week to cut costs. I also learned recently that President Obama has agreed to give a keynote presentation for the conference. I am looking forward to that speech in particular and will do more planning regarding the conference tomorrow.
